Information for residents

Dear residents of the New Year’s Eve Run track.

The Aachen New Year’s Eve Run will take place again on 31 December from 1.00 pm – 5.30 pm. For you as a resident, there may be restrictions associated with this.

In particular, the streets along the running track (Markt, Jakobstr., Venn, Bendelstr., Rennbahn, Johannes-Paul-II.-Straße, Fischmarkt, Schmiedstraße, Münsterplatz, Hartmannstraße, Ursulinerstraße, Krämerstraße, Rethelstraße, Kleinkölnstraße and Großkölnstraße) will be closed to traffic from 1.00 pm to 5.30 pm. Please be aware that vehicles in enclosed car parks will not be able to leave the area during the event. In particular, the enclosed streets Klappergasse, Ritter-Chorus-Straße, Klosterplatz, Domhof, Spitzgässchen, Büchel, Katschhof, the upper part of Kleinmarschierstraße and Nikolausstraße will be affected. The streets Friedrich Wilhelm Platz and Elisabethstraße will remain open to traffic. The market area will also be equipped with a sound system during the event.

We kindly ask you to reschedule your journeys and deliveries to the times before and after the runs and to inform your neighbours about the disruptions. We apologise for any inconvenience caused in connection with the New Year’s Eve Run. The event is appreciated far beyond the city limits and promotes an active Aachen. We would be delighted to welcome you among the runners and spectators.
